MPs back conversion therapy ban

Peterborough-Kawartha Con- servative MP Michelle Ferreri was among about 49 Conserva- tive MPs who voted in favour of a government bill seeking to ban conversion therapy. North- umberland-Peterborough South MP Philip Lawrence and Haliburton-Kawartha LakesBrock MP Jamie Schmale were also in favour. Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole had al- lowed his MPs a free vote on the third reading of the bill, with about 62 of the MPs voting against it. After that vote, MPs gave unanimous consent to fast-track the bill to the Senate.
