COVID death in Northumberland County

The Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit reported a new COVID-19-related death on Wednesday, a Northumberland County resident who was in their 80s and was fully vaccinated.

It’s the 44th COVID death of the year for the jurisdiction.

Another five hospitalized cases, two in the City of Kawartha Lakes and three in Northumberland County, since Monday were reported Wednesday.

The jurisdiction has 12 active institutional outbreaks, down from 14 on Monday. An outbreak that was declared April 11 on Units 2C and 5F of the Central East Correctional Centre in Lindsay was lifted on Wednesday.

Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay had 10 admitted patients with the virus on Wednesday, down from 11 on Tuesday.
