Officer kicked, threatened

City police have made an arrest after a man smashed windows in the Wolfe and Aylmer streets area late Wednesday night and then kicked and threatened a city police officer. Officers were called to the area around 11:30 p.m. after the windows were smashed and arrested a man. He had a cut on his wrist and police took him to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment, police said. During the arrest the man became aggressive by kicking an officer and yelling threats at the officers, police said. A 32-year-old Omemee man was charged with assaulting a peace officer, uttering threats and mischief under $5,000. He’s scheduled to appear in court Dec. 13. He was also wanted in another jurisdiction and was later taken into custody by another police department, police said.
