Peterborough Police plan 11 new job positions (five officers and six civilians) to be hired in 2023. In 2024, there’s a proposal for 10 further hires (a mix of officers and civilians), to meet a goal of hiring 49 new job positions (again including both officers and civilians) over the next five years. New Police Chief Stuart Betts was sworn in Jan. 9, and Jan. 10 was his second day on the job. Incorrect information appeared in Tuesday’s Examiner.
