Personal bests for a pair of Quarks skaters
Two Kawartha Quarks speed skating club competitors achieved personal best results at an event in Markham on the weekend. They competed in three distances with Logan Root-Maher placing first in his group. He established personal best times in the 200-metre distance of 30.4 seconds and in the 400-metre race with a time of 62 seconds. Macintyre Cameron survived the 400-metre race, which involved lots of contact and wiping out between competitors. Overall Cameron finished second and match his personal-best time in the 200 metres. The next meet is in Toronto next month.
