Epping falls to 1-1 at Ontario Tankard

Facing two of his former teammates, Peterborough’s John Epping fell, 7-6, to Mike McEwen on Wednesday morning at the 2023 Ontario Tankard Men’s Curling Championships in Port Elgin. McEwen’s rink features Ryan Fry and Brent Laing who left Epping’s team at the end of last season. McEwen never trailed after scoring two in the opening end. He broke a 2-2 tie with singles in the fifth and sixth ends and scored three in the eighth to jump ahead 7-3. Epping scored two in the ninth and one in the 10th to close the gap. Epping was to face Kitchener’s Alex Champ on Wednesday night.
